Preventive Health
Workshop series
Students will establish a foundation of knowledge in preventive health care by learning how to screen for hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol. Through interactive portions of the workshops, they will learn how to check blood pressure measurements and how to educate and motivate patients toward healthier lifestyles.
This workshop series will be a pre-requisite for those students wishing to screen and educate community members at Health Fairs that Dr. Teng provides advising for.

CampMed took off in summer 2022. With each academic year, CampMed will offer new topics to explore and receive hands-on experience in. CampMed students can return for each conference to learn more.

TengoMed understands that students in different stages of education are interested in hands-on medical workshops. TengoMed is committed to providing high-quality experiences that help learners reach their goals. For 2025, CampMed will be held in Fremont, CA.

How to Hold Your Own Health Fair

Health fairs are places where people from the local community can come to learn about healthy choices and ways to prevent illness and disease. Health fairs also often offer screenings and assessments for common medical conditions.
As a student, holding a health fair is a fantastic way to gain hands on healthcare experience, while demonstrating your skills as a leader. It offers the opportunity to interact directly with community members about their health in a meaningful way, which is important to so many of our students because traditional volunteer opportunities for high school students in hospitals often do not facilitate these desired interactions with patients.
